Francesca's performance experience began at an early age -- dressed up as Diana Ross and using a hair brush as her microphone.  Things haven't changed much since then.  After being given her first part in a community stage musical at the age of seven, she was hooked.
While singing has remained her primary focus, Francesca has had training and experience in dance and theatre.  Most of her high school career was spent going to musical and theatre rehearsals, rather than doing math homework.  As a child she trained in classical ballet and Mexican folk dancing.  She performed with Ballet Folklorico Mexicano de Carlos Moreno, touring Mexico and making numerous international television appearances.  As an adult she discovered salsa, swing and lindy hop and has taught group and private lessons in these genres.
Francesca got her start singing vocal jazz with Dr. Art LaPierre at Sacramento's American River College and the sky opened.  She has since performed extensively throughout Northern California with many of the areas accomplished instrumentalists.  Francesca has had the pleasure of receiving numerous honors, including a Downbeat award as member of ARC's vocal jazz ensemble.
After completing a bachelors degree in jazz vocal performance in 2005, Francesca moved to Germany in pursuit of a certain German exchange student.  While there she was cast in the theatre production "Hohner -- the Musical" and along with stealing the show, she also stole his heart.
Since moving back from Germany last year, Francesca has begun work toward a master's degree in vocal jazz performance from Cal State Long Beach and is the assistant director of Santa Monica College vocal jazz ensemble, under the direction of Cindy Bourquin.
Francesca is excited to sing good music with the good friends that make up Down 4 the Count.
